Why Myofascial Release?
Myofascial Release allows us to look at each person as you truly are, a unique individual. This technique enables us together to find restrictions in the fascial system and release them, helping the fascia unwind, lengthen and become more fluid. Since fascia forms a three dimensional web of connected tissue, myofascial release allows us to be more global in our approach and find the source of a problem even when it is in a seemingly unconnected part of your body.
The goal of Myofascial Release is to restore your freedom of movement so you can return to a pain free, active lifestyle.
Myofascial Release Benefits
People often report feeling taller, lighter and less “twisted” inside their bodies after receiving Myofascial Release. Many people also notice greater range of motion and less pain immediately upon getting up from their session.
Conditions that respond favorably to Myofascial Release include Chronic Pain, Sports Injuries, Tendonitis, Whiplash, Fibromyalgia, TMJ disorders, Headaches, Scars, Sciatica and many more.
Pediatric MFR
Like adults, children can also experience restrictions in their fascial system. Whether it is a result of a birth injury in small children, or injury due to activity in older children, it is a special joy for me to work with young people.
In very young children fascial restrictions can manifest in symptoms of colic, excessive crying, and disturbed sleep patterns. In older children, involvement in sports at school and normal day to day playing activities may result in symptoms of soft tissue restriction such as movement restriction, spasm and chronic headache. Myofascial release helps alleviate or eliminate these and other symptoms in children by freeing up the fascial system to allow it to function optimally.
